18th Edition: You Tell US?

Sunday, December 14 - - 1 Comments

Verse to Remember: Matthew 14:22-33

The Message: You Tell Us?!!

With the rain pouring outside right now, and with everything going on in my life, I felt this illustration and message is perfectly fitting for all thats going on. And rather than give you a message I'm going to do something different and try something new. So lets see how this works out.

The Challenge:
1 )I will leave the message up to you to receive between God and you. So this is your challenge. Listen to the rain outside, bust open your bible ( Or just go to this link here: Jesus walks on water ) and read the few verses where this story comes from (Matthew 14:22-33). After reading the story, reflect on your own life, on your own walk in faith, and your own struggles. Then pray to God to speak to you about what lessons or message He has for you. If you get something please come back and leave a comment.

2)or challenge two, look at the picture, think about the situation/the story, and post a comment telling everyone else what you believe the message is.

So this time around, rather than hearing from us.... we'd like to hear from you.
Please comment and share your thoughts, concerns, insights, messages, lessons, or anything, just leave a comment.

Jesus loves you, and so do we!
God Bless you, and Peace be with you.
Much Love,
The Sondays

SPECIAL EDITION: THANKSGIVING

Thursday, November 27 - - 0 Comments

Verse to Remember: 1 Thessalonians 5:18
"in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

The Message: Giving thanks for what we can be all truly grateful for

I'm gonna keep this one short and sweet cause I'm full and sleepy.

Basically, this is such a great day and wonderful holiday. It's a day when families get together and celebrate just being together. It's a day when no matter what is going on in our lives, we try to find something to be thankful for.

I know a lot of families get distracted with all the food and talking and especially football!!! I really can't say I blame you, as I'm guilty of it too! But as great as all these things are, there is something we should really take time to value, recognize, and GIVE THANKS for, that is the wonderful gift of grace, which is our salvation that was given to us as a gift but at a price. Jesus Christ died so that we may live. Our gift of eternal freedom was given to us with the sacrifice of love. I urge you to remember that cost, and take joy in that wonderful most valuable gift- salvation.

So while you are eating, remember what our Lord, Jesus Christ said-
"And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” Luke 22:19

And when you're so full that you need to take a drink to wash it down, remember when Jesus told us to drink-
Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father's kingdom." Matthew 26:27-29

And with that said, remember lastly this verse:
Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!2 Corinthians 9:15

Let this day of wonderful feasting, and all the eating and drinking remind you of what we can truly be thankful for, God's love and sacrifice for us and our sins.

Jesus loves you, and so do we.
God Bless You, and have a wonderful blessed, love filled day with family and friends, and don't forget this most valuable reminder and be sure to remind others.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING,
The Sondays

16th Edition: Psalm 27:14 Wait on the Lord

Sunday, October 5 - - 2 Comments

Verse to Remember: Psalm 27:14
"Wait on the LORD;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the LORD!
"

The Message: Wait on the LORD
I've been getting better at keeping these messages short to ensure they get read, so I'm going to try to keep that up by keeping this one short too.

Wait on the Lord. ...WHY?

The simple answer is: If you wait on the LORD, God will do exactly as He promised in this verse, He will strengthen your heart.

Biblical Example of this:
I can think of no greater example of this lesson than Jesus Himself during His most difficult trial- His cruxificion, His brutal, Violent, Torturous death for our sins.

This story can be found within the Gospels- Matthew 26, Mark 14, Luke 22

Our LORD Jesus, was about to be taken away to be crucified. Knowing how unimaginably difficult and painful this task, which only He could perform because He was perfect with out sin, He needed strength and encouragement. We can sometimes get comfort, encouragement, love and compassion from others. But at moments when we are at our weakest, when we have no one else to turn to, the reason why we usually have no one else to turn is usually because God is that only one we can turn to for strength, encouragement, and all other needs to help us in following Him; doing His will.
Anyway, that is exactly what Jesus did, He turned to the only one who could give Him strength and help in this most desperate time of need; He turned to His father. He went off to pray alone. He prayed that if God could He would take this cup from Him, but He also prayed,"Not My will, but Thy will be done." He prayed so much that he sweated drops of blood.

We need to look at this moment between God the Father, and God the Son, and see it as our example.

When we are at our lowest, when we are most tempted, when we are at our weakest, when we are most lost, when we are in need, we need to do as our LORD did, we need to go off, to be alone... with our FATHER, OUR LORD, JESUS CHRIST.
He will encourage us, He will strengthen us, and as we saw Him do it first.... HE WILL UNDERSTAND.
Remember God will be your source for all your needs but you have to let Him be. So if you are in need, I pray you will give Him a chance and turn to Him, He won't let you down!

REMEMBER GOD LOVES YOU SO MUCH THAT HE WENT THROUGH ALL THAT HE DID TO HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU.
You always have a choice in all things you do, you can choose to please you, or you can choose to Please God. Choose God.

TRUST, LOVE and SERVE God, 'For consider what great things He has done for you.' (1 Samuel 12:24)

God Bless You,
Peace Be with You,
The Sondays
